Title: Over Park, Over Pale
Author: Saki101
Characters/Pairings: Watson/Holmes
Rating: PG-13
Warnings: none
Summary: Not all mysteries are connected to cases.

Posted on AO3.

Excerpt: Sometimes I think I have notes for more stories that I may not tell, than for those that I may. With new names for the protagonists and a setting far from London, perhaps I shall publish the story that follows as complete fiction. It is not that, however.

Penumbra is a fusion of Sherlock and Dark Shadows. Do you remember Dark Shadows?

In Maine, there was Collinwood and the three centuries of history that were woven into its walls. In London, there is Holmeswood Manor (or the Manor on Baker Street as the urban legends have it), tucked now into a city street when once its oak woods rolled from the heath to the river.

John grew up with its stories of ghosts and wizards and things that hunt in the night. They certainly didn’t keep him from interviewing for a residential post at the Manor because he couldn’t afford London on an army pension and was sure there couldn’t be any truth to those strange, old tales.

During Series One, John gained insight into those tales while he considered whether he would make the Manor his home. A year on, in Series Two, we visit a wiser John, who has come to appreciate that the stories hadn’t half prepared him for the truth. And they had never, ever mentioned anyone remotely like Sherlock.

Title: The Apothecaries' Garden
Author: [personal profile] saki101
Fandoms: Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Conan Doyle/Rappaccini's Daughter - Nathaniel Hawthorne
Characters/Pairings: Sherlock Holmes/John Watson, Mrs Hudson, Mike Stamford
Rating: PG-13
Genre: Slash, historical fiction
Word Count: ~10.4K
Disclaimer: Neither Rappaccini's Daughter nor the Sherlock Holmes stories are mine and no money is being made.
Summary: Watson hopes to distract Holmes during a lull between cases by reading him a Hawthorne story involving doctors and poisons.
Notes: I always felt Rappaccini's Daughter could have ended differently.

Excerpt: Over the top of my newspaper, I watched Holmes rise from his seat. He walked to the window and peered out, his pipe clenched between his teeth. It was the third time he had made the journey to the window in a quarter hour. I waited for his announcement of a visitor. I listened for the sound of carriage wheels, the knock upon the downstairs door. The street remained quiet, the door-knocker still, even the lowering clouds I could see above the buildings over the road held in their rain.

Summary: Sherlock Holmes had never been one to shrink from the extraordinary.

However, he has absolutely no qualms about shrinking from the sharp teeth-tips of the girl in the red glasses.
