So, all you crossover lovers! I've meant to post here for well over a week and say:

LET'S HAVE A CONTEST.

It's Three Weeks For Dreamwidth (or 3W4DW for short). Never heard of it? It's a fest to create awesome content for Dreamwidth and keep it here for three weeks. The community is three_weeks_for_dw, and there's just about every possible sort of fest and challenge and meme and friending going on - take a look!

What does this mean here at crossovers? Well, I'd like to encourage you to clean those crossovers out of your WIP folders! Post early and often! There are only a few rules:

1. Your work must be posted on Dreamwidth, and exclusively on Dreamwidth for the duration of the contest (through May 16th). It would make my day if you'd post it on crossovers and link here from your other accounts, but I'm not going to require it.

2. You must tag your work with the three weeks for dreamwidth tag if you wish to be considered.

There will be three prizes: one for the craziest crossover idea/most outrageous blending of fandoms (as determined by poll), one for the person who posts the most works of any type (recs! meta! other things I can't think of!), and one completely random one that I will exercise my mod-like powers to award. I think it will probably have to do with participation (as in comments).

Prizes will be 100 points each ($10 in Dreamwidth cash, basically).

Does it have to be previously unposted? Because I do have some abandoned crossovers, most of which have been posted at least in part. But this is a new community...

Ah, I see! No, prior posting is okay, as long as it is a WIP. The completed work (or section, if it's a chaptered work) should be posted exclusively for this contest, though.

I believe the dealio is that your work must remain exclusive to dw for three weeks after the posting date. I made the same mistake myself :)

Oh, this has been in my 'to answer' folder for nearly the whole three weeks of the fest. :(

I know that the content isn't supposed to be reposted for three weeks, but that's really not a reasonable way to manage a fest like this, so we're doing the best we can and giving DW three weeks worth of content, even if the exclusivity isn't necessarily going to be for three weeks. If we tried to do that, the contest would be twice as long, because we'd have to wait for three weeks after the last entry to make sure they didn't crosspost anywhere. I just don't have the spoons for that, unfortunately.
