A/N: A bit of an AU from what we've presented thus far of Jane and Maura. This is set sometime between the last chapter and the epilogue of Continuity in the series Circumstance or simply freestanding, as it is not necessary to have read that series to read this. :) It is a sequel and direct continuation of Cross Examination, however.
